Too much

Get too many results in your first try?


Add more keywords, use AND (or NOT) to combine them,

ex: Microeconomics AND theory


Use quote marks "",

ex: "intermediate microeconomics"


Use filter tools,

ex: limit by date



Get only few results in your first try?


Add more keywords, use OR to combine them,

ex: fundamentals OR principles


Use truncation (*),

ex: microeconom* (for search microeconomic and microeconomics)

Get difficulty in defining keywords?


Look for RESEARCH STARTER which gives you background information about the topic. Reading it, you can define keywords for your search easier and more effectively.


Look at the subjects listed in your results to find applicable terms.


Check the drop down list right at search box


Look for "Did you mean" and try the suggested keywords

Wanna expand your search?

Try the "Find Similar Results" link if you, unfortunately, choose a title whose full text is not available.


Click on the links in the book's record,

ex:

  • to find all materials of an author, use the embedded link at the field named Author.

  • to find all materials in a topic, use the embedded link at he field named Subject Terms
