Summer conditioning and practice are not optional — they are a critical part of building the foundation for everything we will do throughout the year. The skills you learn and develop in the off-season are the skills that set the tone and structure for the rest of the season. Showing discipline and commitment now will directly benefit your performance, confidence, and readiness as we move forward.
We will be learning choreography earlier than ever before in hopes of being prepared and competitive at the major events we are targeting, including PIAA States and UCA Nationals. In order to reach those goals, we need EVERY athlete at practice — and when you are home, you are still expected to attend any scheduled summer team practices.
There will be a reevaluation at the start of tech week to ensure that every athlete has maintained the level of preparedness and commitment required to hold their spot on the team.
Additionally, there are conditioning exercises and strength work that should be done on your own outside of the gym to keep you accountable and prepared throughout the summer. Your effort now makes the difference later.
Let’s use this summer to get stronger, cleaner, and more confident — together. Stay dedicated. Stay disciplined. Stay committed.
Being on one of our competition teams is not a light decision — it comes with responsibility. You are representing yourself, your teammates, your coaches, and most importantly, your school every time you step on the floor. This program is something we are building to be strong and a main pillar of school spirit, and your commitment makes that possible.
We will be having two small teams for next season. With that being said we are being open to all divisions possible for cheerleading which would mean opening into that traditional division.
What are the differences between Game Day and Traditional?
1. Traditional Team- This is a 2 minute and 30 second routine. The elements include an opening, cheer, and an ending. There are stunts, pyramids, jumps, tumbling, a dance and a cheer throughout this routine. Will Compete at local events, PIAA events, and UCA events.
2. Game Day Team- This is a 3 minute routine. The elements include a Band Chant, Sideline Cheer, Crowd leading Cheer, and a Fight Song. This mimics a Football Sideline experience. There are stunts, jumps, tumbling, dances, props, rallying between each element, and crowd engagement. Will compete at Local events and UCA events.
**This will be reevaluated after tryouts and MAY change depending on skills.
Please ask if you have questions on the differences!
