The Educational Advisory Committee (EAC) was created in 1967 to provide the school board objective information on topics important to the school district.
The committee meets monthly from September through June and members are volunteers from the community. Ex-officio members include the superintendent, chief academic officer, school board representative, high school student, and teachers (elementary, middle school, and high school).
The topics to be researched and investigated are proposed by the administration and school board. EAC members divide into subcommittees to work on selected topics. (The EAC reports findings and answers questions; it does not influence policy.)
Each subcommittee submits conclusions and recommendations to the committee, school board, and stakeholders in oral and written form. Brief summaries, once approved by the school board, are posted on the EAC website.
Individuals who are interested in serving on the committee may contact the Office of the Superintendent or an EAC official for additional information.
