2025-2026 SRMS Jazz Auditions

Step 1:  Fill out this Registration Form.  Submit everything now except for your audition recording.

Step 2:  Practice the audition music. 

There are three excerpts, each of which is roughly 8-12 measures.  The songs are:

1.  "Jive at Five", 

2. "The Thumb"

3. "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele.  

Jive at Five & The Thumb are practiceable in MakeMusic!! 

Submission Requirements:

• Say your name, grade, and instrument..

• Record ONE excerpt per video, and submit your best one below.  Then repeat for the other pieces.

• Piano & Guitar players, please improvise an accompaniment rhythm (that's called comping) to the chords shown on your sheet music.  Here's an example of me explaining 'comping'.

Step 3:  Submit your audition video here by September 28th.
