Getting to UD

By Public Transportation

• Amtrak (https://www.amtrak.com/home)

• Option A: Amtrak → Thomas R. Carper Station (NRK) (closest)
  Get off at Newark (NRK).
  The station is about 1.3 miles (2 km) from Trabant.
  You can:
  🚶 Walk (about 25-30 minutes).
  🚕 Take an Uber/Lyft (about 5 minutes, typically $8-15).
  🚌 Take a local UD Shuttle/Unicity or DART bus if operating when you arrive. UD and Unicity buses serve the Newark Train Station on weekdays. 

• Option B: Amtrak → Wilmington Station (WIL) (more frequent trains)
  Wilmington has many more Amtrak arrivals than Newark.
  From there:
  Take DART Route 6 to Newark Transit Hub (about 45-60 minutes), then walk about 8-10 minutes to Trabant University Center.
  Or simply use Uber/Lyft directly to campus from the Wilmington Station (20-30 minutes, typically $25-40). 

• SEPTA (https://www.septa.org)

SEPTA's Wilmington/Newark Line only serves Newark on weekdays, mostly during commuter hours.
Ride SEPTA to Thomas R. Carper Station (NRK).
From Newark Station:
🚶 Walk 25-30 minutes.
🚕 Uber/Lyft (5 minutes).
🚌 DART or UD shuttle if available. 

Weekend note: SEPTA does not serve Newark on weekends. If you're traveling on a weekend, ride SEPTA only as far as Wilmington, then transfer to DART or arrive to campus through ridesharing apps such as Uber/Lyft.

• DART Bus from Wilmington (https://www.dartfirststate.com/RiderInfo/Routes/)
  Take DART Route 6 from Wilmington Train Station to Newark Transit Hub (about 45-60 minutes).
  From Newark Transit Hub:
  Walk about 8–10 minutes west along Main Street to Trabant University Center.
  Or take a short local bus/Uber/Lyft if needed.
