About Me

My name is Maria Gkourlias and I am a Senior Fashion Merchandising and Management student at the University of Delaware. My main future career interests include event planning and management, styling and trend forecasting, and visual merchandising. I have grown a significant amount since my freshman year at UD, both as a student and individual, in becoming much more well-versed, confident, and technically skilled. One of my immense passions I've developed as a result of coursework and industry experience is the implementing of sustainability within the fashion industry. As an advocate and activist for sustainable garment production, I hope to eventually run my own up-cycled fashion brand. My goal is to be a contribution that drives the industry to stray away from fast fashion production methods.
