Conclusion/Summary

As you reflect on the information that is provided on this website, I hope you feel motivated to build upon it and help make the world a safer place for our children. We cannot be passive about this issue; every day that we do not take action will result in more children suffering through bullying. In addition to educating ourselves, we also need to educate our children about bullying prevention. A study by Hawkins, Pepler, & Craig (2001) found that more than half of bullying situations stop when a peer intervenes on behalf of the student being bullied. If there is not already a bullying prevention program implemented at your school (or your child's school), suggest the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, Steps to Respect, or KiVa to the administration.

Together, we can bring about change. Together, we can put a stop to bullying. Will you do your part?
