During my second year of college, I worked as an iHouse Peer Mentor. In this role, I was tasked to organize, facilitate, and advertise events to educate students on different cultures.Â
This policy brief, written for POSC408 - International Organizations, analyzed the contested topic of "climate refugees" through a post-colonial lens. Highly interested in the topic of human rights, I wanted to discuss the disconnect between our current international framework for human rights and "climate refugees". The brief also issued recommendations to consider within international relations.
While abroad and taking POSC408 - International Organizations, I wanted to further pursue the topic of human rights. Here, I analyzed UNSC Resolution 1325 through a feminist lens and the implications Resolution 1325 had transnationally.
Under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Trivedi, I worked as a research assistant during my third year of university. While abroad in New Zealand, the spring semester of my third year, I was able to localize my research to the area I was in. My responsibilities included expanding the bibliography of the Anthropological Publications on the COVID-19 list, analyzing literature, and generating annotations for select entries.
