Mark seams on the model to show Blender how to unwrap the 3D model to a 2D image.
Unwrap the model and lay out the pieces as desired
UV Unwrap the model by creating seams and bake the UV Unwrap to create a normal map.
Paint over the normal map with similar colors to create brushstrokes texture.
Create a base color layer with the same brushstrokes.
Node map to create desired material effect with the normal map (below) and base color (above).
