If you have never been an RA in any residential area at UC San Diego or served as an RA for the summer and are interested in joining the Revelle RA Team please follow the steps below:

• INFO SESSION: Mandatory that you attend one of our Info Sessions

  • • • • Info Sessions will be in person in the Revelle Residence Life Formal Lounge located behind Rogers Market, just past the Revelle Amazon Lockers

• APPLICATION:

        • Select "New Applicant" in the application. 

        • Application Questions - word limit: 300

          • • Based on your current knowledge of the Resident Assistant position, provide 2 examples of experiences you can bring to the position? What do you expect to gain from the RA position? 

            • Student leaders are expected to promote, teach, and model UC San Diego’s Principles of Community. Given the Principles of Community, share two examples of how you have modeled the Principles of Community and how you will create a strong community with your residents?

            • Tell us an example of a life experience that has contributed to understanding your personal identities and explain how this life experience will help you be an effective RA for the Revelle community?

            • In the RA position, you will work closely with many people (residents, professional staff, other RAs, campus departments, etc.) who have different identities, socioeconomic statuses, political values, religious beliefs, etc. than you. Please give an example of a time you worked with people different from yourself and explain what you learned.

• INTERVIEW: Selected candidates will complete TWO 30 minute interviews (Round 1 and Round 2)

              • To be scheduled during Winter QTR Week 8 - 2/23/26 - 2/26/26

If you have been an RA during the current academic year in any residential area at UC San Diego and are interested in joining the Revelle RA Team next year please follow the steps below:

• INFO SESSION: It is not mandatory but highly encouraged that you attend one of our Info Sessions if you have not worked for Revelle Residence Life

  • • • • Info Sessions will be in person in the Revelle Residence Life Formal Lounge located behind Rogers Market, just past the Revelle Amazon Lockers

        • Select "Returner Applicant" in the application

        • Application Questions - word limit: 300

          • • Based on your current knowledge of the Resident Assistant position, provide 2 examples of experiences you can bring to the position? What do you expect to gain from the RA position?

            • Student leaders are expected to promote, teach, and model UC San Diego’s Principles of Community. Given the Principles of Community, what does an inclusive community mean to you and how have you gone about creating a strong community with your residents?

            • Tell us an example of a life experience that has contributed to understanding your personal identities and explain how this life experience will help you be an effective RA for the Revelle community?

            • In the RA position, you work closely with many people (residents, professional staff, other RAs, campus departments, etc.) who have different identities, socioeconomic statuses, political values, religious beliefs, etc. than you. Please give an example of a time you worked with people different from yourself and explain what you learned.

        • Reference check - Upon submitting your application, your supervising ADRL will receive an automated email asking them to share a brief reference about your work this academic year. Your supervising ADRL must submit a completed reference check by 1/12/2026 for your application to be complete.

• INTERVIEW: Selected candidates will be scheduled for ONE 60 minute Virtual Interview that will consist of a 10 minute presentation and 50 minute traditional interview
