Based on your current knowledge of the Resident Assistant position, What experiences can you bring to the position? What do you expect to gain from the RA position?
Student leaders are expected to promote, teach, and model UC San Diego’s Principles of Community. Given the Principles of Community, what does an inclusive community mean to you and how will you create a strong community with your residents?
Tell us an example of a life experience that has contributed to understanding your personal identities and explain how this life experience will help you be an effective RA for the Revelle community?
In the RA position, you will work closely with many people (residents, professional staff, other RAs, campus departments, etc.) who have different identities, socioeconomic statuses, political values, religious beliefs, etc. than you. Please give an example of a time you worked with people different from yourself and explain what you learned.
This is an optional question to gather interest in being an RA in a potentially new Living and Learning Community. Answering this question will have no impact on the overall candidacy of an applicant.
Revelle College is in the process of piloting a community that celebrates neurodiversity. Please tell us your experience working/living with people who identify as neurodiverse. What strength/benefits do you believe they bring to a community?

Develop Programs for residents based on one of the Programming Models below
Participate in a Duty Rotation: Weekday Evenings & Weekend shifts through the Day/Evening
Support students experiencing difficulty, assist in their transition to college, help them with resources and be a part of students path to graduation!
RA Collateral - each RA chooses a collateral that supports a departmental mission (Examples include: Wellness, Digital Engagement, and Professional Development)
RA Buddy! - New RA's get partnered with a Returner Buddy to help navigate training and get advice
The specifics of these Models are often adjusted based on community need and RA feedback.
First Year Programming: Developed for our first year residents with the goal of getting them connected to the community, teach them, about campus resources, learn about EDI topics, learn to navigate the transition to campus, and introduce them to new skills or concepts.
Examples of Program Topics and Previous Revelle RA Programs:
Educational Program - You're a STAR (taught the STAR Method for interviews) or Academic Fair (partner with different academic resources)
Social Program - May the 4th be with you! (for the Star Wars lovers) or Rock Painting! (painting rocks while listening to classic rock music)
Social Justice/Cultural Program - Hunger in America (educate about food insecurity) or Tamil New Year (learned about this holiday and traditional activities to celebrate and educate) or M.E.M.E (Medical Equality vs Medical Equity)
Sophomore Success Programming: Developed for our Sophomore and above residents to assist them with the challenges that come after their first year. Research shows that many second year students struggle through the academic year for varying reasons. Program topics include Community Building, Educational Programs, and Sophomore Success topics. Examples of Sophomore Success Programs and Topics:

Life Ready - Budgeting/All things Apartment Hunting with Student Legal Services
Career Ready - How to Land that Internship/Faculty Panel - Career Advice!
Access to the Christine Norris Wellness Center, Revelle's own gym and wellness center
Convenient study locations at 64 Degrees, Revelle Commuter Lounge, Galbraith Hall, and the Revelle College Center
Fantastic sunset views atop the Keeling Apartments at the Keeling Rooftop Garden
Access to music rooms in Argo Hall (the only piano rooms on campus accessible to non-music majors/minors)
