Today, we began working on our final projects and presentations. We chose the dataset we wanted to use and analyzed the relevant data on there for testing and training. Once we got the information we needed, we added it to our slides along with screenshots of our code. After, we had a guest speaker: Professor Taylor Berg-Kirkpatrick, an Associate Professor in UCSD's Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He talked about many interesting topics, including demystifying generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning. After lunch, we walked back to our lab rooms and continued to work on our final projects.

Today, we mainly worked on completing our code for the final project. Afterwards, we also started creating our presentations. Thanks to our amazing professors and cluster assistants, we were able to understand how to code the project as well as how to get all the right information presented cleanly and concisely.

Today, we first continued working on our final projects and presentations. We made significant progress on our code, created our presentations, and some of us even started practicing our presentations. After lunch, we had a guest speaker, Saura Naderi, who spoke about her journey into engineering and demonstrated how she combined engineering and art. Afterwards, we continued working and practicing our final projects and presentations.
Thursday: July 31, 2025
Today, we started off by finishing and practicing our presentations. Then, we presented to some of our cluster assistants and our teacher fellow to get feedback on our presentation and our projects. After lunch, we went to the CSE building and practiced presenting our projects to Cluster 1. During this time, we got better at presenting and got feedback from our peers and professors on what we could do to improve for the presentation tomorrow.
