Today, we started our lecture on ethics and learned about ethical challenges, which are often defined by questions that have no easy answers. These include the trolley problem and lifeboat ethics.
Then, we got into groups of 4 and discussed the ethical issues surrounding the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. We wrote down ideas about AI bias, its effects on society, and how it could be resolved and managed.
Each of our groups then gave a quick presentation, which covered topics like the dilemma, the affected users, the consequences, the 2 sides of the problem, and the possible solutions to the dilemma.
Afterwards, we continued with our Python coding challenges, which taught us how to apply the various concepts we learned so far.

Today, we started with a lecture on the basics of Python. In the lecture, we covered various topics, including data types, strings, loops, different types of loops, as well as functions.
Afterwards, we had a guest speaker, Professor Haojian Jin. He came and spoke about his research and about the reason why microwaves don't warm your food all the way through.
After lunch, we moved to a different room to continue our Python coding activities for the day, including some new challenges.
Overall, it was a pretty productive and interesting day of cluster activities before we moved on to the fun COSMOS ones.
