On our first Monday lecture with Karcher, we learned about different number systems from many places in history. We learned about the Binary Number System. This system only uses 0 and 1’s. Additionally, we learned about the Hexadecimal number system and how it is the foundation of the naming of digital colors. To practice our skills, we played a numeric game that focused on converting binary numbers to hexadecimal. The game was super fun and Ginny was the champion!

For our second Monday lecture with Curt, we had an introduction to electronics in preparation for our next project: Arduinos! Lastly, we got to experiment with breadboards, wires, a battery, lights, and buttons to get a circuit to work.
During afternoon lab time, we started working on our Image Processing Projects. All students were paired up to start brainstorming ideas for their projects. Everyone worked very hard to incorporate image processing skills.
In the morning, we got into our Ethical Presentation Groups and worked on our first ethics presentation. We then presented our project in front of the class. We gave feedback for each group on what they’ve done perfectly and something they may need to work on, which enabled our collaboration skills.
During our lab, we continued working on our Image Processing Project and Slides to get ready to present in front of the whole class the next day!
