"Thermo is one of the most important conceptual subjects in engineering and has huge implications for bioengineering specifically. It is challenging but the framework has withstood the test of time and is remarkably predictive.
For thermo, it is important to be mentally disciplined in that the most important step is to carefully think about your definitions, assumptions, and what's being asked. For some courses, you can rely on your intuition and almost envision the answer before doing calculations. That's not always the case here. The first steps of carefully thinking about how the system and its surroundings are defined, what assumptions hold, and what target you are trying to hit are the most important."
