Overview
City Walk is a tech demo that shows a procedurally generated city developed by Unreal Engine and Houdini. The original layout of buildings and roads of the city is grabbed from a part of Shenzhen's map data using Open Street Map. After possessing the OSM data to point clouds, the point clouds is exported to Unreal Engine and are ready to be replaced by building and road assets. The player is free to enter the world and walk through the city. Most buildings are also procedually generated. In the project, I also developed a building generator that enables the generation of different variations of buildings simply by defining their shape with a curve.
