What happens at GBM?
General body meetings (GBMs) are used to review what we have done and decide (by popular vote) what we want to accomplish.
Everything we do is member-driven and member-led. Attending GBMs gives you an opportunity to express what you want from our chapter and to share ideas!
Can I still participate if I can't attend GBM?
Of course! We hold lots of events, community service projects, and more at other times.
You can visit any of our Officers during their Office Hours to learn more about what we are doing right now that you can get involved in.
Is there a fee?
We collect $15 dues each academic year from members. Members must pay dues to vote, chair committees, be a Distinguished member, etc.
Funds are ONLY used if approved by a majority member vote.
Psi Chi also requires a one-time, registration fee of $55.
What is Distinguished Membership and what are the benefits?
Members of both Psi Chi and Psychology Club have the opportunity to earn honorary statuses which are awarded to members who earn a certain number of Points and pay chapter dues during an academic year.
What are committees?
Committees are for the purpose of students working on areas of interest outside of the chapter meetings. Examples include Journal Committee, Induction Committee, and community service committees.
There are opportunities to join committees throughout the year.
Can Psi Chi help me find research opportunities?
Definitely! We advertise labs that are looking for RAs during GBMs.
Many of our members are involved in research labs and/or the Honors Program, so they may be able to tell you about un-advertised opportunities.
Is your question still unanswered?
