Members of both Psi Chi and Psychology Club have the opportunity to earn honorary statuses which are awarded to members who earn a certain number of points, representative of active participation in our organization, and yearly dues.
The honorary statuses for 2024-2025 are:
Distinguished
Distinguished with Accolades
Distinguished with Highest Accolades
Points are tracked only after you submit an application or registration for the current academic year.
Members must earn the points outlined below prior to Monday of Spring Week 9.
To run for Office, members must reach Distinguished membership status prior to Annual Elections (to be held during GBM of Spring Week 4).
Earn one point for each GBM you attend. Make sure to sign-in on the attendance survey!
GBMs are held Thursdays at 6:30pm via in-person and on Zoom (meeting ID found on home page!)
Earn one point for each Psi Chi-approved event you stay until the end of.
Examples include career panels, professional development workshops, guest lectures, social events, and trainings.
Earn one point for each Committee meeting or event you participate in.
Examples include Induction Committee, Journal Committee, and Research Committee.
Earn fundraising points by purchasing our merch, attending events that sponsor our Chapter, tabling Fundraising Committee events, and more.
We are dedicated to making UCSD Psi Chi/Psychology Club affordable for everyone, so speak to our President if you have any concerns!
Earn one point for each time you attend our Office Hours to meet with an Officer, study, or hang out.

Opportunities will be announced throughout the year.
Members may earn up to THREE wildcard points that may go towards any category except dues.
All Members:
Have your status recognized by our Points Recorder at General Body Meetings.
Priority for events/trips with limited capacity.
Recognition at Induction Ceremony and in the annual Memory Book (classified by Distinguished, with Accolades, and with Highest Accolades).
Free admission to the Induction Reception following the Ceremony.
Active participation in Psi Chi/Psychology Club (which Distinguished status is a marker of) will help you meet tons of awesome peers, professionals, and faculty members which can lead to research and lab positions; volunteer and employment opportunities; as well as (the most valuable of all) friendships.
Non-Graduating Members:
Eligible to run for Officer positions for the following academic year.
Lower requirements for reaching Distinguished membership status the following academic year.
All Graduating Members:
Receive a free psychology department graduation cord.
Starting Winter quarter, receive one entry* into the opportunity drawing held at GBM #3 and GBM #6. (Note: GBMs do NOT necessarily align with the quarter Week!)
