The Bhaskar D. Rao PhD Teaching Support Endowment Fund
Bhaskar, who had a deep passion for teaching, created The Bhaskar D. Rao PhD Teaching Support Endowment Fund as a tribute to his unwavering commitment. The endowment will provide support for PhD students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (“Department”) at the Jacobs School in gaining teaching skills, which may include but is not limited to support for:
· Faculty teaching mentorship opportunities;
· Support for PhD students to participate in teaching skill development classes, programs, and/or conferences;
· Expanded opportunities for PhD students to gain practical teaching experience in core subject matter, with preference for supporting PhD students in the areas of Signal/Image Processing (SIP), Communication Theory and Systems (CTS), and Machine Learning (ML); and/or
· Other applicable programming and/or awards intended to improve the teaching credentials for PhD students who are aspiring to become faculty members.
