The MAE Graduate Student Council (MAE GSC) is excited to announce the start of student-led graduate seminars! These seminars will take place bi-weekly on Mondays at noon and pizza will be provided. This is a great opportunity for graduate students to present their research, receive feedback from peers, and prepare for conferences or other formal research outlets.
For those enrolled in the MAE 205 course, attending a full seminar (60 minutes) will only count towards 1 out of the 6 required seminars attendances needed per quarter. The remaining 5 must be completed as dictated by the MAE 205 course, such as attending departmental seminars

Seminar Format:
Does not need to be professional! can be about your general interest or just lab progress.
Presentations can be either 10 or 30 minutes long, with flexible timing if needed.
The audience will consist of MAE graduate students from various disciplines, so presenters should aim for a broad understanding.
Audience members are encouraged to give feedback, both verbally and through feedback forms.
To maintain a comfortable environment, only graduate students and postdocs may attend. Faculty, except for the seminar faculty advisor, Prof. Alessandro Marinoni, are not permitted to attend.
The seminar series can be used to rehearse an oral presentation for an upcoming conference or for a more casual seminar describing work in progress.
