We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our project mentors, Dr. Geert Schmid-Schoenbein and Dr. Michael Heller, for their invaluable guidance, mentorship, and expertise throughout the duration of this project. Their support and insights have been instrumental in shaping our understanding and approach.
We are grateful to Dr. Rebekah White and Dr. Utsav Joshi for generously sharing their time and expertise, allowing us to interview them and gain valuable insights into the current use of protease activity assays in clinical diagnostics.
We extend our appreciation to Dr. Alyssa Taylor Amos, our senior design professor, for her leadership, organization, and guidance in navigating the complexities of a design project. Special thanks to our teaching assistant, Nivedha Iyer, for her continuous feedback and support throughout the project. We would also like to acknowledge Katia Vallejo for her assistance in the purchasing of supplies.
Finally, we extend our thanks to the UC San Diego Department of Bioengineering for funding our project. We are deeply appreciative of the contributions and support from all individuals and organizations mentioned above, without whom this project would not have been possible.
