Group 32 officially started in Spring 2024, but its roots began when we all met each other at the start of Junior year. We were coincidentally in the same session for a lab class and we continued to find each other in other classes. When the time came to select a project, our group had already formed!
Major: Bioengineering: Biotechnology
Hobbies: Starting diorama kits and making cakes.
Project Interest: This project was an opportunity to learn skills associated more with mechanical engineering, particularly CAD modeling. It required a lot of skills different than what I've learned in class, but it is an invaluable experience learning it all.
Takeaways: Learned technical skills, such as CAD modeling, technical drawings, outsourcing manufacturing, and writing reports. Also improved on communication, independent time management, and leadership.
Major: Bioengineering: Biotechnology
Hobbies: Photography and cooking new recipes.
Project Interest: This project is concentrated in biomechanics, which requires a lot of new technical skills (i.e. CAD, GD&T) that I wanted to explore.
Takeaways: Developed familiarity with CAD (SolidWorks), 3D Printing, and GD&T. Learned the process of product design in the medical device industry, such as manufacturing and drafting reports.
Major: Bioengineering: Biotechnology
Hobbies: Thrifting, baking, and watching sunsets at the beach.
Project Interest: My interest in this project stemmed from wanting to learn more about the medical device industry and test engineering.
Takeaways: Acquired new technical skills, such as designing parts in SolidWorks, 3D printing, preparing drawings with GD&T, and project management strategy.
