Overview
Perfusion assessment is key for evaluating tissue health, especially in cases like intestinal ischemia where diagnosis can be tricky. For this project, we optimized an existing hyperspectral imaging system and developed a hemoglobin concentration algorithm to support real time analysis of intestinal perfusion. We also created detailed documentation to help with usability and future development. Early results show improved performance and visual maps of hemoglobin concentration.
Objective
Create a device that can monitor intestinal tissue perfusion in real-time in a surgical and/or research setting.
