Following validation with our nerve phantom, future testing with small mice models of injury will elucidate the device's clinical performance; as of yet, no NAP have been stimulated, which is key for downstream testing. Next, porcine or rabbit models may allow for the development of a standardized surgical procedure, with testing of nerve access as well. Some nerves of interest are the brachial plexus, for example. Finally, after validation and repeated iteration, clinical trials may begin with a small cohort of patients.
