Federico Pasqualotto

Welcome to my webpage!

I am a tenure-track assistant professor at UC San Diego. I am also a Visiting Research Scientist at Google DeepMind and a June Huh Visiting Fellow at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study.

Previously, I was Morrey Visiting Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley and a Griffiths Research Assistant Professor at Duke University.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics from Princeton University in 2020 under the supervision of Mihalis Dafermos and Peter Constantin.

Research interests

I specialize in partial differential equations (PDEs), specifically fluid dynamics, general relativity, and nonlinear waves. I also work at the intersection of AI and mathematics, using PDE methods to understand transformer models, and using AI for mathematical discovery.
