FAQs / Syllabus:

• There are no enrollment limitations, anyone is welcome to join.

• The general expectation is consistent attendance (missing one week okay; two on the edge; more a problem) and engagement with our speakers / topics of discussion (ask questions, or offer opinions when we discuss ideas — no wrong answers, the point is to demonstrate engagement with the material).

• Informal specifics:

  • 2-credit: Present material at least once during the quarter. Can be a partial presentation (e.g. splitting a week with 1-2 other presenters is common) or team presentation. Can be your own research, research from elsewhere you find interesting, topical happenings in industry/government/elsewhere, or other material you feel the seminar will appreciate. If you do not present, you must provide feedback to the speaker every week to receive full credit for 2 units.

  • 1-credit: Meet the general expectations—you should speak enough that folks know your name :). Required to present every few quarters if you come consistently over time.
