Design Lab Printer Information

How to Connect to Design Lab Printers 

For Mac

1. Proceed to WiFi Settings on personal device

2. Access the "DesignLab" WiFi network (password: *hidden* --> please ask dlab-ops@ucsd.edu)

3. Proceed to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners

4. Select "+" button located on the bottom left of Printers

5. Printer names (pictured below) should appear

6. Add/select printers as needed

For Windows

7. Proceed to WiFi Settings on your personal device

8. Access the "DesignLab" WiFi network (password: *hidden* --> please ask dlab-ops@ucsd.edu)

9. Proceed to the Printers & Scanners on your personal device

10. Select "Add Device"

11. Printer names (pictured below) should appear

12. Add printers as needed

Design Lab Printer Policies

General Policies

Affiliated Students: Please limit printing jobs to Design Lab related projects and work. Printers should not be used for personal projects or unrelated coursework.

Access and Supplies

• The Design Lab printers are only accessible through the "DesignLab" wifi. Ask a Design Lab Ambassador for assistance if you do not have access.

• Please ask a Design Lab Ambassador for paper supply.

• Please inform a Design Lab Ambassador if printer ink/toner levels are low.

General Printing Tips

• Please note that large files will take a few to several minutes to print. To speed up the print job, you may need to change your file format (e.g. PDF to JPG).
