You are being invited to participate in a research study titled "Generation and Evaluation of Culturally Relevant Computing Resources in Introductory Programming". This study is being done by Gerald Soosai Raj from the University of California - San Diego (UCSD). You were selected to participate in this study because you are a higher-education student in a participating class.
The purpose of this research study is to research students’ experiences and evaluation of culturally-relevant computing material and techniques for introductory computer science courses. Your participation in this research should last approximately one academic term in the span of you computer science course (e.g., 10 weeks for a quarter system term, 12-15 weeks for a semester system term). If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to continue attending and completing your regularly scheduled introductory computer science course.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. Choosing not to participate or withdrawing will result in no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are entitled. You are free to skip any question that you choose.
