Microbes form diverse communities throughout the human body

It would be useful to know what the default gut microbiome looks like so that we can differentiate between a healthy and unhealthy gut microbiome
Studies have shown that a specific few bacteria populations fluctuate throughout the year, but we want to see if the overall fluctuations of the thousands of bacteria in the gut microbe are enough of a signal to predict the time of year just from the different population levels
The dynamic nature of host microbial communities is complex and has not yet been characterized using a machine learning model.
If we can develop a model that can predict the time of year that a microbiome sample was collected based on compositional signatures alone, it would demonstrate the existence of seasonal microbial variation on a global population level.
