Managing a project from start to finish with little super vision
A deeper understanding of the issues that patients face with their prosthetics
Interviewing people who would provide useful insight into the project
Designing a circuit board that can control multiple solenoids and acquire data from force sensor
CADing on complicated curved surfaces
The variety of 3D printing methods and post processing that allow for flexible and air tight prints
Developing a testing plan to validate project
Managing time
Insuring that if one aspect of project is holding us back that we start on another part to be productive.
For example, during the development of air tight bladders we were simultaneously working on the insert. Also planning around for the large print times proved to save a lot of time
Communication and collaboration between members
Reinforced the importance of clear and efficient communication
Members learned how to communicate in a matter that allowed for open discussion and ideas
Members made it clear what they were and were not capable of allowing for easy delegation of the work
Leadership
Different members at certain times would take the lead on the project depending on availability
