Hey! I'm Sophie Aiken, a 6th year graduate student in mathematics at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

My research interests lie broadly in geometric analysis and mathematical physics. My advisor is Jie Qing. I am also interested in the accessibility of gateway math courses and believe math prerequisites should not hold students back from excelling in their chosen fields.

Before coming to UC Santa Cruz, I received my B.A. in Mathematics from Colorado College, where I wrote my bachelor's thesis under the direction of Kirsten Hogenson.
