Reflective Paragraph:
My course plan consist of many Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) courses due to my interest in learning more about Latin America. Some classes are about politics in Latin America or in general. I want to make sure I have a general understanding on how politics can shape access to health or health inequities. Other LALS courses that I am interested in are more about the history of Latin America, regarding health, gender and migration. These courses will give me a good background of Latin America when I volunteer in medical trips with MEDLIFE. I also hope these classes give me an understanding as to why Latin America has health inequities and how it has improved, declined, or stayed stagnant throughout time.
