UCSC Center for Coastal Climate Resilience Receives $4.6 Million in Funding
The UCSC Center for Coastal Climate Resilience has been awarded over $4.6 million in funding to support 23 UC Santa Cruz research groups. These pilot and implementation projects are focused on fighting climate change in coastal communities throughout California and beyond. This funding is made possible by the California State Budget Act of 2022-23.
The Center for Coastal Climate Resilience is dedicated to building coastal resilience by engaging partners, fostering leadership, and addressing the climate change challenges impacting coastal areas. The center strategically focuses on six key areas:

Developing nature-based solutions
Enabling market options
Restoring natural resources
Supporting climate justice
Strengthening communications
Housed in the UC Santa Cruz Office of Research, the center brings an interdisciplinary approach to tackling the pressing challenges of climate change, driving meaningful action to protect coastal communities.
