I am a graduate student at UC Santa Cruz in cognitive psychology, exploring human communication and our perceptions of it.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, I completed my BA in psychology, with a minor in neuroscience at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. I then moved to California in 2019 to complete my MA in psychological science at California State University, Northridge before beginning the journey towards my PhD in psychology in the cognitive area of the psychology program at the University of California at Santa Cruz. 

Currently, I am a second year graduate student in my program, studying psycholinguistics under Dr. Jean E. Fox Tree in the Spontaneous Communication Lab. My research is broadly focused on how people communicate and percieve their communication with others with specific lines of inquiry into the impacts of videoconferencing platforms (i.e., Zoom) and the effects of social relationships on these perceptions.

Outside the lab, I enjoy painting and taking my cat Orion on walks around my neighborhood in his harness.
