I had the great pleasure of representing the rising Global and Community Health Program at UC Santa Cruz at UC Global Health Day held at UCLA. It was a great opportunity for my peers and I to showcase our Task Force course from fall of 2023. The course was a research-heavy course, designed to highlight real-world challenges and propose effective responses. Our task force focused on pesticide exposure and its impact on migrant health, specifically in the Salinas Valley. My peers and I had a great time listening to the many speakers that were committed to making change by creating health through policy and advocacy.
My time in Brazil might have been short-lived but it was a very transformative period for me and led me to pursue Toxicology post-grad! Learn more about what I did with my time there
Aside from my academics, I typically spend my weekends working at Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos, California. During my two years there, I have learned a lot about the wine production industry and have developed great intrapersonal skills through my frequent interaction with guests.
