Giancarlo Barcia is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research interests lie in International Finance, Macroeconomics, and Applied Econometrics. His current work explores the drivers and transmission of the global financial cycle to emerging economies, the role of firm heterogeneity in shaping aggregate dynamics, and the implications of natural capital for sovereign debt management.
In his free time, Giancarlo enjoys dancing bachata and salsa.
