Lower Remove Resources
Lower Remove Drama: Course Overview
In Lower Remove Drama we will consolidate our learning about naturalism, strengthen our devising techniques by reacting to a stimulus, and discover new movement techniques with Frantic Asssembly.
Lower Remove Dance: Course Overview
Lower Remove Dance Overview
In Lower Remove Dance, you will be building the necessary foundations for the GCSE course. You will continue to develop, expand, and challenge your physical, mental, emotional, creative and intellectual capacity.
Over the year, we will be completing four units of work and an extended choreographic project. The aims are:
To develop and apply your technical, physical and mental skills as a dancer through
learning and performing the set phrase – Breathe.
To develop and apply your knowledge of health, wellbeing and safe practice as a
dancer.
To further develop your performance and expressive skills. We will do this by choreographing and performing a group dance linked to ‘Emancipation of Expressionism’, by street dance company Boy Blue Entertainment.
To further develop your analytical skills through evaluating Rambert Dance Company’s: A Linha Curva by Itzik Gallili. This will also inform the extended choreographic project.
To choreograph a 2.5-3 minute group dance. You will be selecting your own stimulus and accompaniment; as well as, design the set, lighting and costume for your end of your year performance.
By the end of the year, you will have developed experiences as a performer, a choreographer, dance facilitator and dance critic.
