Week 10: Performance

• Meet at the Learning Glass Studio, Olmstead A139

  • Guidelines

  • You get one take for the recording. You don't have to be perfect. There will be times in your professional life where all your preparation boils down to one shot.  (Suggested watching: One Shot of the Dead, especially for film buffs—do not read any spoilers.)

  • This is a safe exercise for that 'one shot', you will not be penalized for any mistakes during the recording.  

  • After your recording, reflect on the following:

    • Did the recording go as you expected? What went well?

    • With 20/20 hindsight, what could you have prepared for differently?

    • How did you handle the pressure of having just one take?

• We'll take turns doing the first set of recordings. Those who are not recording will have alternate activities: a couple of board games, and open time to discuss letter of recommendations.

Homework

• Due on the last Friday of the quarter (12/3): [Submission link] letter of recommendation for one of your peers. 1-2 pages, use business format. Guidelines are posted here.

• Due on the last Friday of the quarter (12/3): [submission link] one last final draft of your blog post. Same guidelines as draft 2. 

  • Link to your peer reviews for draft 2 (accessible to class members only)

• Due on the last Friday of the quarter (12/3): 3-5 minute presentation. Either live via UCR Learning Glass (Week 10) or via pre-recorded submission.  Guidelines are posted here. [Submission link for Zoom alternative].
