Madeleine Simmons is a dyslexic writer who received her MA in English and Writing Studies from Cal State, San Bernardino, her BA in English from the University of California, Riverside, and her AA in Communications from Riverside City College.
She has spoken at various conferences, such as the CSUSB Women's Leadership Conference. She has published work in Inlandia and Wordgathering, as well as articles and forthcoming articles published in local papers such as The Press-Enterprise,
She was a junior faculty member teaching poetry in the Inlandia Institute's "Poetry is Power" in 2019 and 2020. She was a faculty member teaching poetry in the summer of 2023, for "A to Zine," making poetry zines with youth eight to twelve. She was also a judge for the 2022 and 2023 Riverside Teen Poet Laureate and has been a judge for other contests. She was poetry editor for the Fall 2023 edition of Inlandia: A Literary Journey.
She currently resides with five cats in her home-turned-sanctuary in Riverside, California.
