Sasha (she/they) entered the Environmental Toxicology graduate program in 2020. She is from Chicago, Illinois and graduated Pomona College with a B.A. in Molecular Biology and a minor in Russian and Eastern European Studies. Her current research focus is studying microplastics in terrestrial ecosystems.
Ph.D. Student
Audrey entered the Environmental Sciences program in 2023. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Redlands. As an undergraduate she studied 4-nonylphenol sorbed to microplastics found in snow. Her current research focuses on the fate and transport of unregulated organic compounds found in land-applied biosolids.

Becca entered the Environmental Toxicology program in 2023. Becca is from Marquette, Michigan and graduated from Alma College with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. Her research will relate to the accumulation and mitigation of emerging contaminants in ecosystems from the recycling of wastewater.
Visiting Scholar
Yan Xu received her Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University and is now an Associate Professor at Qingdao University. Her research interests are soil microbiology and environmental fate and remediation of organic contaminants.
Visiting Scholar
Zhaoyang Liu received his Ph.D. from Chinese Academy of Sciences - Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences and is now an Associate Professor at Huazhong Agricultural University. His research interests include emerging contaminants such as PFAS and their risk assessment and management.
