Research in Instruction, Student Success, and Engagement (RISE) Lab

The RISE lab at UCR studies how instructional design relates to memory, learning, skill development, and wellbeing in the classroom.

Directed by Dr. Hayden Hendley, we are especially interested in projects that help students develop transferable, career-ready skills, and understand complex topics like climate change.

Dr. Hendley is accepting graduate student applications for the Fall 2026 cycle.
