The organizing team is comprised of the following Botany and Plant Sciences graduate students
Marcus Harland-Dunaway, Planning Committee Chair, is a PhD candidate in Dr. Robert Jinkerson's lab at the University of California, Riverside. He studies plant architecture and plant heterotrophic metabolism.
Claire Whitaker is a second year PhD student in Dr. Hailing Jin's lab at the University of California, Riverside. Her research is in the area of plant-pathogen interactions as mediated by extracellular vesicles.
Wesley Neher is a PhD candidate in Dr. Patricia Springer's lab at UCR. He studies shoot development and architecture, with a focus on things that affect the agronomically important traits of leaf and branch angle.
Emily Blair is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Dr. Dawn Nagel's lab where she studies how the circadian clock regulates the plant temperature stress response.
Brooke Rose is a second-year PhD student in Dr. Janet Franklin's Vegetation and Landscape Ecology Lab. Her research explores the relationship between geography and plant vulnerability in California.
Sabrina Gilmour is a first-year PhD student at the University of California Riverside in the Botany and Plant Sciences department. She is focusing on heat and drought stress in the context of circadian regulation in the laboratory of Dr. Dawn Nagel.
