Student Guidelines
Students are welcome to use the media center before & after school. The media center opens at 8:15 a.m. and closes at 3:30 p.m..
Students must have a SmartPass from a teacher and check in at the desk with Ms. Oke when they come to the media center individually or in small groups.
Students who need to print should share documents through Google Drive with Ms. Oke. Only items that are for educational/school purposes may be printed. Once a student shares the document they may come to the media center to pick it up. There is no charge for printing educational/school documents.
Students may have 4 items checked out at any given time. Each item can be checked out for up to 2 weeks. After 2 weeks the item needs to be returned or renewed. Students are responsible for returning books on or before the due date. If the items are needed longer, the student should bring the item in and ask to have it renewed, or email Ms. Oke at leah.oke@ucps.k12.nc.us
Overdue notices will be sent home periodically throughout the school year. Students who have overdue materials from schools they have previously attended in UCPS are still responsible for resolving their accounts with those schools. If they return the book or payment to Parkwood High the media staff will mail the book or payment to the appropriate school.
Materials are due back to the media center approximately 2 weeks before the end of the school year. The exact date is published on the school calendar each year.
