As this global crisis continues, UCPS has been making great efforts to provide students with better tools for remote learning. I-Ready is one of those tools, in the past we only use it for math assessments and instruction to those students that might needed but now every kid has the opportunity to have online instruction through this app.
i-Ready online lessons provide students with explicit instruction practice and feedback that allows them to learn a skill while promoting a growth mindset. The lessons also include a short, scored quiz to help you, your child, and your child’s teacher know how they did. Lessons are based on research on effective online learning practices and are tested extensively with students to ensure they engage learning of all abilities and ages.
Your child will solely be using lessons that have been manually assigned by your child’s teacher.
This time we have a new feature for Spanish learners, so students will have Spanish online instruction for math!! This is a great way to practice the language and concepts already learned.
Also, with I-Ready students can practice concepts about reading. Unfortunately, it is only in English, but I think this can help you at home to improve those concepts that students need for this school year.
Please note that i-Ready, like all of the other resources being pushed out, are optional. If you choose to have your child complete I-Ready lessons, UCPS has advised to do 30 minutes at a time.
You can access I-Ready through the clever app on NCEDCloud or if you want to download the app on your devices, here are the instructions.
