As the UCM Horticulture club (or hort. club for short), we spend time as a group doing an assortment of plant related events! As stated on the home page's welcome section, all majors and minors in UCM are welcome to join this club.
This is the semester of planning! During this semester we plan things related to the annual Spring Plant Sale. The club also plans events during the fall semester for the club members to get to know more about each other and the club. We start our first club meeting of the school year in August and continue monthly meetings.
Greenhouse time! This is the semester where we have weekly meetings at the ag department greenhouse. During this time we'll be doing a lot of prep work for the annual Spring Plant Sale (last week of April each year). However, we also plan other social events for the club including, but not limited to, a spring trip!
Fun fact: we're one of the longest running clubs involved in the UCM Adopt-A-Trail program. We do this both semesters of the school year. Our club aims to assist with the trail cleanup at Pertle Springs at least once a month during the school year (excluding the months of December and January due to weather and the month of May due to finals week/graduation).
