SW-PBS Tier 1 Preparation Phase Training
There are no Preparation Phase Training Sessions Scheduled for this school year. Please contact your Central Region consultants if you have questions about beginning the work of SW-PBS at your school.
Missouri School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (MO SW-PBS) will be hosting this series of six workshops designed for Preparation Phase school teams (administrator and two other team members-minimum) beginning implementation of SW-PBS. Teams will meet together to learn about the Essential Components of SW-PBS, share progress towards creating the systems needed for future implementation of SW-PBS and network together to share developing SW-PBS practices. For current SW-PBS Tier 1 Preparation Phase schools only.
Outcomes: By the end of these sessions participants will be able to... -Develop, with staff, lesson plans to teach building school-wide expectations and non-classroom specific behaviors and procedures.
-Consider how to gain commitment from all stakeholders on teaching social behavioral skills.
-Demonstrate specific positive feedback that specifically describes behavior and uses rationales.
-Develop a tangible reinforcement system to enhance the use of specific positive feedback.
-Develop and implement an effective menu or continuum of positive reinforcement that serves to motivate all students across settings.
-Define what constitutes a "major" or office-managed behavior that warrants an office referral.
-Develop an office referral form with all essential data fields, and clarify procedures surrounding the use of office referrals.
-Use respectful strategies for staff-managed "minor" inappropriate behavior.

Leader Standards: #1, Quality Indicator 1; #2, Quality Indicator 1; #4, Quality Indicator 1, 2 complete and discuss the PBIS Assessments to monitor and guide development and implementation.
Audience: Building Administrator and at least two Tier 1 Team members.
