The purpose of this display is to promote October 11 as "Fiction Inspired by Myths and Legends" day by showcasing fiction inspired by myths, legends, and folklore from a multitude of cultures, not just Greek mythology typically seen with similar displays. The books included in the display are high-interest YA fiction novels that are also diverse in the cultures they represent with the stories inspired by elements of myths, legends, and folklore from Hindu mythology, Mayan mythology, Korean mythology, Navajo mythology. West African folklore, and more. The display will be part of a high school library and marketed for grades 9-12.
