Lizeth Pérez received a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside, where she studied the interactions of molecules on synthetic cell surfaces. She also studied at Long Beach City College (LBCC) before obtaining her B.S. in Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach. After graduate school she spent a year in the California legislature helping inform policy with science as a Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST). She is now an Assistant Professor of chemistry at LBCC. Lizeth is passionate about science communication and promoting equity in STEM.
