The most intriguing part about the Decameron is the various stories from multiple storytellers. I enjoy the different themes of the day and how the stories of the day intertwined with one another. What I've noticed between the real world and the spaces in storytelling specifically in the Decameron, is that they can be really realistic. The stories from the Decameron are very authentic and lifelike stories that resonated with the people at the time. The stories talk a lot about love and affairs, they recognize the classism at the time and sexual desires. They also discuss some religious aspects and the deceiving of one another. For example, we have stories like Masseto and the nuns, which shows trickery and sexual desires. We also have stories like Trancredi’s daughter and Messer Guiglielmo’s wife are stories of love and affairs. These stories were fascinating not only because they relatable to the people but they had an amusing turn of events in the stories.
