The spring research project has multiple components, all of which are interrelated.
Primary Source component: find and evaluate potential primary sources before settling in on one as your focal point. Analyze and make a claim about your primary source, through one or more thematic, theoretical, and/or methodological lenses you encountered in Core.
Secondary Source component: find and evaluate a scholarly conversation around your interpretation of a potential primary source. Position your own arguments in relation to existing arguments.
Think of the Research Process as a scavenger hunt or quest. There are multiple stages, but the path is not always linear, and there are often multiple paths you can take. This simulation walks you through an example of what the early stages of the research process might look like, using the Christopher Nolan film Inception (2010) as a potential primary source.
