Evaluation Score: 3.72/4.0 Response: 180/191 (94%)
The instructor's teaching strengths are her communication skills in responding to students' questions as soon as possible, which I personally find very beneficial, how resourceful she is in providing us a practice midterm/final and review sessions, and how the videos that are provided in each week module is very helpful in breaking down complex concepts.
Professor Yin clearly cares about the subject and presents the material in a well-organized way. The course structure on Canvas made it easy to follow. The office hours were helpful for clarifying concepts and asking questions, and it was clear that the instructor was knowledgeable and supportive.
Professor Yin is well-organized and clearly knowledgeable about the course content. The recorded lectures were concise and easy to follow, and the slides helped clarify key concepts. I appreciated how expectations for each assignment were communicated in a straightforward way.
She always encourages group work because in the real world you have to come together with everyone. They made sure we all knew what we were doing and had people reach out to other groups in the comment section.
She holds office hours before exams which can be helpful. Her grading rubrics for each assignment and project are detailed. So it's very helpful for students to identify where they may have docked off points.
The course structure is very straightforward and easy to keep track of. The professor was also very responsive to questions via email and was always willing to help.
The structure on Canvas is very organized and the assignments we have are exactly what we learned in class. Everything is pretty straight-forward and I enjoy how we can watch other group's presentations on topics we learned in class and relate it to the real world.
I like the structure of the course in terms of the weeks are displayed out. I also like how there was group work and I got to meet others in the class.
